The Libertines
The second album from The Libertines is a heartbreaking and thrilling release. It's a miracle it ever happened, because of Pete's drug problems, prison sentence, exclusion from the band and rehab. Not since The Kinks and The Clash have their been a band that sung so vividly about life in London. The album was produced again by Mick Jones but this time with the help of Bill Price. The sound and lyrics brim with character, energy and tragedy. It's challenging, touching, angry and ramshackle.
