Kiss Kiss Double Jab
The fourth studio album by The Rongetz Foundation, a name which knew how to stand out on the internationanl jazz scene in particular thanks to the success of the previous album "Brooklyn Butterfly Session" and its hit featuring Gregory Porter " Gogo soul". A title which was played by all the radios jazz worldwide.
For this new album recorded in New York, the leader Stephane Ronget invited a jazz living legend, the saxophonist GARY BARTZ (who besides albums under his name, played with Miles Davis, Charles Mingus, Max Roach)
The group of this album also gathers some NY talented players as the trombonist Steve Turre, Frank Locrasto in keyboards, Corey Fonville at drums and Luques Curtis (bass, the rhythm section of Christian Scott or Eddie Palmieri) but the real discovery of this album is the young singer ( hardly 25 years) Lili Cooper. An impressive voice who is creating a sensation in several broadway shows.
As special guests, we can also find poet Sonia Sanchez (figures of the Black Art Movement in the 60’s mentor of Gil Scott Heron) accompanied with her friend Monette Sudler at the guitar.
