Five Long Years
Born in 1914 on Frank Moore's Stovall plantation in the heart of the fertile Mississippi Delta, Eddie Boyd is without a doubt one of the most influential Bluesman of the White-Blues scene of the 60s. Singer, songwriter and pianist, Boyd made his fortune in Europe where he moved after an invitation to attend the prestigious American Folk Blues Festival in 1965.
This is one of his first LPs, which was recorded that same year at the legendary Wessex Sound Studio in Lon- don during his European tour. The album is named after his number one R&B chart hit "Five Long Years", a track that boasts cover versions by B.B. King, Muddy Waters, Jimmy Reed, Buddy Guy, and Eric Clapton.
