Step By Step
Detroit guitarist/songwriter Eddy Senay’s 2nd album, ‘Step By Step’ is a mix of gruff funk burners like the scorched ‘Sarko East’, the bubbling, slight afro-funk groove of the much sampled ‘Cameo’, the bouncy ‘Soul Preachin’ and the Latin tempo of ‘Shakeroo’. Also check the Blaxploitation feel of ‘Shakedown’ and the loping, lazy groove of ‘Safari’. ’72 was a busy year for Senay – both his albums on Sussex (his entire full length output) were issued in the same 12 months.
