Monyaka (Swahili for ‘good luck’) are a six-piece, Jamaica-born reggae act, based in Brooklyn, NY originally founded in 1974. 1982 they released the album Reggaenomics on Easy Street record label. Includes the UK hit Go Deh Yaka (patois for ‘Go To The Top) and reached number 14 in the UK charts. It cleverly fused reggae and contemporary R&B. The album also features the first single Stand Up Strong. Demon Music are proud to provide the first reissue of this ground-breaking New York/ Reggae project on 180 Gram heavyweight vinyl with original artwork.
