The Book Of Taliesyn
Their second studio album, and recorded only three months after 'Shades of Deep Purple', 'Book of Taliesyn' was released in October 1968, just before their first US tour. The name for the album was taken from the 14th-century Book of Taliesin, reflecting the Counter-culture ethos of the late 60's.
With the emergent muscular rock sound present, the LP also demonstrates a tuneful interplay and groove, reflecting the influence of bands such as The Doors and particular around the Hammond organ, their earlier Beat and Soul influences.
